Rates & Ratios Hot Chocolate Stand

This is a fun and engaging real world activity on rates & ratios. Students will calculate the unit price for ingredients used to make hot chocolate. They will use this information to calculate how much each cup of hot chocolate should be sold for to make a profit of $1.50. They will calculate 3 customer receipts. In addition, students will write and simplify ratios using the given ingredients.

This activity is perfect for 6th Grade Math or 7th Grade Math classrooms learning about rates and ratios, and includes a real life application. There are also 2 pages that are self-assessing.
